With heavy, broken hearts, the doctors and staff of Altig Optical announce the passing of our beloved co-worker, Lea Kay Gloria. A friend. A mentor. The heart of Altig Optical. The heart of our office family.

Lea was a member of the Altig Optical family for over twenty years. From the first office adjacent to Albertsons, to the office with the bright green walls, and finally to the current college football themed home Altig Optical currently resides in, Lea was our rock. She was literally always there… One couldn’t go down the hall without hearing someone call for her. However despite the frequency, every plea and every request for her was met with eagerness, respect, love, and utter compassion.

Anyone who knew Lea, knew she was special. She loved life, her family, her job, and talking with her patients. She was loud. She was always in the way. She was an especially picky eater. She was perfectly “Lea”.

We are grateful and so fortunate to have had the privilege to know and love you. There will not be a day that you and your “Lea-isms” will not be missed. Pink flamingos, Llamas, paper towels, the color yellow, coupons, sweet tea, cruise ships, Vegas… These words, these items all have a new significance to them. They remind us of you. They help us remember that although you may no longer be with us, that you continue to live on around us. We are broken but at the same time we are whole because of you.

We thank you for the joy, the laughs, and the memories you have given us. We are grateful and so fortunate to have had the privilege to know and love you. There will not be a day that you and your “Lea-isms” will not be missed. We love and we miss you Lea.

We would also like to extend our love and condolences to our patients. Lea touched the hearts of many and we would like to invite you to share your memories and photos with us so that we all continue to celebrate her life.

In Memorial of Lea Kay Gloria
